Goldilocks has always brought wonderful memories to mind. Whenever I think of my Goldilocks moments, I can't help but smile because an event so ordinary always turns into something unforgettable. Just like this one time when I turned 16.

Phaelun turns 16

Birthdays have never been a big thing in my family. For us, it is just like any ordinary day except for the fact that the celebrant is a year older and he or she is entitled to feel depress the whole day. As a kid, I never expected of having a birthday party nor did i ever dream of it. So, it was definitely a huge treat for me when my friends threw me a surprise party on my 16th Birthday.

It was not an extravagant party. There were no clowns or entertainment bands. There were no balloons or fancy decorations. There were no caterers or goody booths. There was only a Goldilocks and seven good friends. Yes, it was plain and simple. Plain and simple... yet memorable. It was my most memorable birthday ever because my friends gave me the best and sweetest gift: A GOLDILOCKS CAKE THAT SAYS IT ALL.

It was truly a very special gift because all my friends, despite being broke, chipped in just to get me that cake. They specifically chose a Goldilocks cake because they wanted to give me a personal message (Goldilocks was a pioneer for personal message on cakes during the early days).

Eleven years has past but still I can't help but feel overjoyed whenever I think of that day. I may not have an expensive birthday party or birthday gift but i had the most unforgettable birthday feeling... with the help of a Goldilocks cake.

Indeed, there are some things in life that can make common occasions truly remarkable and magical. For me, you're the 1 Goldilocks, because the message that goes along with your presence is extraordinary.
