A Requiem to My Beloved

Good day to everyone, especially you my friend whose unwavering support has helped me alot. Indeed, it has been a while since our last correspondence... my apologies. Recently, i lost a dear friend, a beloved close to my heart... and as i think of it right now, my heart still bleeds... the pain is inconscionable... i am overwhelmed with grief and sorrow. I tried to seek refuge through writing and other means but i guess my heart just won't let go..... I woke up one day feeling a bit better and for the first time in weeks, i felt i was ready to move on.... and so, i wrote a requiem in memory of my beloved:


A REQUIEM TO MY BELOVED

Tenderness and rapture are two words that took after you
Your presence, a delight that is beyond words,
melts away the weariness that possesses me
and makes every line of my skin move in ecstasy
This is the power you hold above me.

Your existence is my incandescent joy
glowing alongside the daunting twilight
It is from you that i draw my inspiration
to carry on and face another day
This is the mystery you own over me.

With you i dare fly and kiss the sun
without you, i fear the birds and the light
Your presence is the summation of all things beautiful
and your absence is the consummate tragedy
This is the sufering you carry in your heart.

Now that you've gone home
How will i ever sing beneath the charcoal sky
with the stars gathering the embers of your love
and the wind blowing away your sweet kisses
This is the heartache i bear.

My beloved, no words can describe my sorrow
yet it is true and real
I grief over and over, i weep an ocean abyss
there is no telling of the pain and anguish
This is a wound that time will heal.

Hush now, my darling
Find peace in the land of serenity
where flowers like rainbow grows a plenty
and river of joy flows forever
This is the place you belong in.

I am missing you everyday
but i will smile as i think of you someday
No longer imprisoned by agony
but liberated by your love
This is the gift you will give me.

I will keep your memories alive and cherish it forever
and there won't be another parting
Goodnight now my love
for tomorrow we shall meet again
This is my promise to you.
